David Sobon has consulted with hundreds of foundations, non-profits, service and religious groups and associations around the country to help them fulfill their fundraising goals. In his 19 years of assisting non-profits, David has gained extensive experience in fundraising, event planning, advertising, marketing, public relations and auctioneering. He has had the opportunity to consult with organizations such as American Leadership Forum, Susan G. Komen, The Sacramento Library Foundation, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, American Heart Association and a variety of Chambers of Commerce, art organizations and children’s charities.
David is a former partner of Jack Young at Maximum Benefits Auctions. He also is an active member of The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and a part of their teaching faculty. David is a member of The American Sommelier Association and The National Auctioneers Association (NAA), where he earned the title of Benefit Auction Specialist, one of only a handful in the country. On the board of directors of Sacramento Child Advocates and Elk Grove First, David’s contributions are felt throughout the community.
David grew up in Los Altos, CA and is father of four. Daughter Nicole is a dedicated mother of two beautiful children; Jake is Active Duty United States Air Force and Baxter is at UC Davis earning a degree in political science. Carter is a star athlete, aspiring musician and high school student.
In David's spare time he enjoys collecting art, wine and rare books. He also enjoys traveling, live music, theater and bicycle touring. David's passion is creating the perfect gourmet meal in the kitchen. He is a well-respected wine aficionado with experience in tastings, judging, production and sales; his knowledge adds something special to each live auction.
David’s fresh and innovative ideas have given way to great and exciting events. His experience has generated him a great repertoire with his clients and donors. It is David’s unique “Benefit Auction System” that helps organizations to raise more money and have more fun while changing the lives of those they serve. David says, “ There is no better feeling than coming off the stage at an event and knowing you made a huge difference in someone’s life”.

Joey O’shea is the
Event & Auction Coordinator and Personal Assistant for David Sobon Auctions. He is from Villa
Park, California.
He was born and raised in Orange County, California, 23 years old Joey O’Shea attended Villa Park High School and later Saddleback College. Where he studied Interior Design and Business. After a few months of soul searching Joey moved to Sacramento in February 2010. Soon he found his dream job working as an Event Coordinator and Executive Assistant at David Sobon Auctions. Working for DSA has really helped him connect with many people in the non-profit industry. In a year and a half since he moved to Sacramento Joey immersed himself in the community volunteering his time for organizations such as Gay & Lesbian Center, Trevor Project, Equality Action Now, Rainbow Chamber Foundation, American Heart Association, SACTO, Sacramento Film Festival, PHEF, Sacramento Ballet, SCA, CARH, Weave, SPCA, Lambda Players and The Rainbow Chamber of Commerce.
When he isn’t volunteering or working, he is an avid runner and enjoys biking around town on his beach cruiser. He has a cat named Obama, who he named after one of the influences in his life. Joey has many goals for himself including opening up his own gay youth homeless shelter for teens who have no place to go and help them learn different life skills.
